JOB – Intermediate Programmer Analyst

JOB SUMMARY
The intermediate Programmer Analyst will be responsible for designing and developing IT solutions, and making recommendations in line with functional specifications. Successful candidates will participate primarily in the deployment of OOP PHP websites. He/she will work on Canoe’s sites for the general public: projects to develop new sites, site maintenance and related tasks. Successful candidates will comply with IT procedures and standards, promote IT best practices, and update documentation on the software that has been modified.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The intermediate Programmer Analyst will be responsible for:
1. Actively design, document, implement, maintain solutions to fulfill functional specifications
2. Estimating the workload
3. Suggesting IT solutions
4. Writing and running unit tests to verify the impact of his/her work on the product
5. Responding to requests for changes
6. Complying with IT standards and best practices
7. Carrying out deployment plans

REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Required:
o Bachelor’s degree or Technical diploma in computer science or related field.
o A competent technical analyst
o 3 to 10 years of relevant experience
o Proficiency in OOP PHP, XML, HTML, and LAMP
o Results oriented, motivated, team player
o Proven ability to meet commitments and deadlines

Desired:
o Perl, and CSS
o Bilingual, spoken and written
o Halo 3 – mad skillz 😉
